Lemon Tree - Citrus limon
There's something wonderfully satisfying about growing your own lemons. The white flowers are sweetly fragrant, the foliage smells incredible when brushed, and if conditions are right, you'll get actual fruit: glossy yellow lemons you can slice into a gin and tonic or squeeze over pasta. It takes a little more attention than most plants, but it's absolutely worth it.
Native to South Asia and long cultivated across the Mediterranean, lemon trees love warmth, sun, and humidity. In the UK they enjoy summer outdoors in a sheltered, sunny spot, coming inside to a cool, bright room or conservatory from late autumn, usually May or June depending on your area.
One good thing to know: fruit and flowers may sometimes drop during the move between indoors and outdoors. This is a completely normal reaction to changing conditions and new growth and fruit will follow.
Water when the top inch of soil feels dry; in summer this may be weekly, in winter far less. Overwatering is the most common cause of decline. Feed with a specialist citrus fertiliser through spring and summer, switching to a winter citrus formula from October. Use a well-draining compost.

If you'd like to return a living item, let the team know within 30 days by emailing info@leafenvy.co.uk or live chat if online. Please attach a photo of the faulty or damaged plant. Other items can be returned for a refund within 30 days as long as they're unused and in re-saleable condition. Please note that return costs are the responsibility of the customer.
